Oy!
junglerythm:

Let the Sun Shine
There were days when I could almost forget our quest and believe that we were just a regular family out on a camping trip. When the Sun would cast a warm golden glow on the path we were following, making the land before us seem inviting rather than daunting. Those were the days Roland wouldn’t mind so much if Oy and I got sidetracked and ran off the Path of the Beam to chase each other run as fast as our feet could take us, only to double back when we realized how far from the others we had gotten. Those days brought our katet closer and made the trials ahead seem worth taking on if only to have more days like them. I can’t speak for the others, but I know Oy and I will treasure those memories the most.
My books are several states away right now and I haven’t actually read the series for at least two or three years so sorry if I get somethings wrong. I research what I can and anything else is memory and guesswork.

eddiedean:

ake! ake!

jakechambers:

billy-bumbler:

[Oy eerily mimics Jake’s tone.]

Lud.

[Jake feels a chill slide down his spine.] Yeah, that’s right, boy. Like Lud. But you and I, we’ll stick together this time. I swear.

Ake! Oy! Sick Ogeder!

[Oy lifts his head up and licks Jake’s hand]

eddiedean:

jakechambers:

I wouldn’t count on it, Eddie. [Jakes tone was dark, almost bleak] I have a feeling this city might be more like Lud than New York.

[The smile dies on Eddie’s lips. He knew this was the response that would come from either Jake or Alain, but somehow hadn’t been ready to hear it.]

Yeah. Yeah, I figured. If we were hoping to find Blaine though, we couldn’t really be looking for much different.

[Oy eerily mimics Jake’s tone.]

Lud.

Ake!

jakechambers:

billy-bumbler:

[Oy senses concern in his masters mood, but continues to sniff the trail diligently searching for the man Roland’s smell, but can’t find it.

Everything along the road is obscured by a strange odor.To Oy it doesn’t smell bad, not bad at all, but dangerously sweet and it clouds everything like a black haze.]

[Jake looks down at Oy, concerned.] What is it, Oy? Caught a scent? Is it Roland?

[Oy cast his head down and utters quietly and in a tone that conveys a certain level of dispair:]

olan.

[Oy shakes his head, no.]

[Oy looks into Jake’s eyes with a certain level of fear before dropping his head back down to continue trying to discern anything about this potent new trick he is sure is the work of the dark scary man with the black clothes.]

Ake!

billy-bumbler:

Olan?

[Oy lifts his head and looks at Eddie, clearly on edge with all the new people around his master, this new development doesn’t help.]

Roland’s not here, Oy. [Jake strokes the fur between the bumbler’s ears for a moment.] We’re going to look for him, though. Maybe he’ll meet us on the way. For now, looks like we’re headed west to find Blaine.

If you catch Roland’s scent, give me a bark, alright?

[When Jake first mentions Blaine Oy tenses, but trusts his master and relaxes.]

Oy! Olan! Ark!

[Oy excitedly sniffs the surrounding ground, but catches no scent of the man Roland and slowly walks back to the group and resumes his position at Jake’s side.]

susandelgado:

We have not met before, gunslingers. But I assume you are aware of my story.

I apologize for not speaking to you earlier.. I- I did not know how to do so.

Roland’s not here.

[One can clearly see how uncomfortable she feels.]

I see that now, sugar. [Susannah’s voice is soft and sweet. All traces of Detta are gone now, quick as she came.]  Don’t feel uncomfortable on our account. Any friend of Gilead is a friend of ours, whether they’re on good terms with our dinh at the moment or no.

What can we do for you while we get goin’ here, doll?

Ease up sweetheart!

[Eddie grins and then places his fist to his head and bows.]

I’m Eddie, this is my wife, Susannah.

Although, I really did think he was with you… Now I’m worried…

Jake! JAKE! [Eddie walks over to Jake and Alain and puts a hand on Jake’s shoulder.]

Jake we need you to try and touch Roland, just real quick.

Olan?

[Oy lifts his head and looks at Eddie, clearly on edge with all the new people around his master, this new development doesn’t help.]

Oy kiyit

[Oy curls up by Jake’s feet and watches as Jake and Alain work. He doesn’t close his eyes though, not quite trusting the new friend alone with his master.]
